Melbourne Festival Goes Hi Tech with iProximity’s HelloLocal App

The Melbourne Festival has teamed up with iProximity to use HelloLocal a proximity based marketing App to deliver festival goers with information and offers based on their exact location.

The information system uses Beacon technology which are tiny Bluetooth transmitters that are detected by the HelloLocal App once it has been installed on a smartphone. When a smartphone detects a festival Beacon it will deliver up-to-the-minute information or special offers right into the HelloLocal App based on a user’s precise location.

Four Melbourne Festival locations have the Beacons installed including Federation Square, The Melbourne Festival Foxtel Hub, The Melbourne Arts Centre and the South Bank Theatre.

To use the Melbourne Festival location-based information and offers, download HelloLocal from the App or Play store, or visit www.hellolocal.me. Remember that the Melbourne Festival information will only be shown when you are at one the four equipped locations.
