The Smart City Citizen Engagement Program commences with the delivery of contextual, proximity based, information to the Community’s Citizens and Visitors through the City’s Smart App. It expands to include local business awareness through proximity-based offers, evolving into a network of valuable local information that drives and supports local businesses. Our Citizen Engagement program powers this Smart City venture into a cost neutral, or, an optionally profitable program that delivers insightful analytics to city planners and an optional anonymised public data stream.

Proximity Marketing & Information
iProximity enables our customers to deeply engage consumers based on their precise location. We incorporate the latest technology including Beacons, RFID, NFC, Dynamic QR Codes, SMS and Wi-Fi combined with the consumer’s smartphone to deliver contextual marketing or information services based precisely on the consumer’s current activity at the location.

Employee & Asset Solutions
Enterprise Mobility has revolutionised asset management and maintenance and worker productivity. Enterprise applications leveraging proximity and context report further gains in employee productivity, engagement and visibility, while also improving the enterprise’s efficiency, adherence to workflow and OH&S compliance. iProximity’s real-time location and contextual information solution enhances the efficiency, engagement and productivity of the mobility-empowered employee.

Smart Information Services
Many cities receive feedback that information is hard to find. One simple way to improve this is by using proximity-based information services. These services deliver contextual information based on the location of the user. By connecting the physical space to data information, innovative services can quickly evolve, including: Self-guided walking tours, Making planning and permit application notices, discoverable and interactive, Tourist information service based on their location, Information services for galleries, museums, exhibitions, Pop-up market, car shows, cultural event information.

Sunshine Coast Sculpture Garden
Sunshine Coast City Council has deployed Beacons in its Sculpture Garden at the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens in Tanawha. Visitors with the City’s App on their Smartphone can engage in a self-guided tour and receive information, video and audio on each of the main sculptures.
The benefits of this well-received community and visitor initiative include the availability of real-time information on visitor’s interests and their physical path through the park. This data is then used to create a better-tailored experience, with sculptures positioned where more visitors can discover them.

Innovative Bicycle Program
Many schools are trying to encourage their students to cycle, scoot or skateboard to school not only for the obvious health benefits but also to reduce the number of vehicles around the school.
Through technology that detects the use of these alternative means of transport; a student reward programs is established and automatically updated the student’s points tally when they ride to school.
The system also automatically alerts the parents via SMS or email that their child has safely arrived or left the school grounds. In fact, many parents have indicated that they are willing to contribute a small annual fee to receive these arrival and departure alerts. This can lead to a self-funding rewards and alerting smart city project.

Visitor Information Centres
Visitor Information Centres (VICs) are a vital part of any city that relies on tourism. But VICs are expensive to operate and frequently compete with internet searching, allowing your valuable tourists to easily find non-authorised information. Through the use of sensors, apps, digital signage, Wi-Fi and proximity systems, the delivery of electronic information directly to the visitor’s Smartphone can be automated.
Digital services operate 24X7, at a lower cost that printed information, are contextual (relevant to the current location and activity) and can be delivered in the visitor’s native language. Additional benefits of a smart city’s visitor information system include: detailed statistics and heat maps of visitor locations and dwell times, programs are simple to use and low cost to scale, customers can be directed to local businesses and digital information brochures are instantly updateable and environmentally friendly. Commercial programs involving local businesses, in return for involving local businesses can offset costs.

Real-Time Analytics
Some cities start their smart city initiatives with a knowledge gathering programme. By leveraging a city’s app through the placement of proximity sensors, anonymous, real-time information can be gathered about the movement of the community and visitors around the city.
- Measure number of patrons attending local cultural, sporting or commercial events;
- Heat map foot-fall around particular areas, streets, shopping precincts or events;
- Gain real-time understanding of the use of assets (parks, toilets, car-parks) or visitation of local monuments, tourist highlights or natural assets;
- Measure the use of skate parks, walking tracks, mountain bike trails etc.
Share the information with the community and expand the program to provide real-time information on each of the locations. Sell the information to commercial operators who want real-data on events or locations.

Vehicle Fleet Management
Historically cost effective vehicle fleet management has been difficult to achieve, however, iProximity’s IoT approach can dramatically increase the visibility of actions, reporting and management of your fleet.
The combination of vehicle sensors adds a layer of context awareness to the App which adds significant benefits including: increased richness and accuracy of the information collected, the potential to include additional Application features, increased employee adoption and engagement through improved App usability, and to enforce adherence to workflow and OH&S compliance without adding prohibitive costs
” It’s like magic, the appropriate form for the required particular contextual workflow is displayed automatically on the employee’s device and instinctively associated with the correct vehicle”

Asset Management & Maintenance
Enterprise Mobility has revolutionised asset management and maintenance. Enterprise applications leveraging proximity and context report further gains in employee productivity, engagement and visibility, while also improving the enterprise’s efficiency, adherence to workflow and OH&S compliance.
Business Benefits: Increase employee productivity, Increase employee engagement, Gain valuable insight into employee activity, task duration and task scheduling issues, Reduce back office overhead, Increase equipment uptime and Improved confidence in system maintenance.
