We mesh Beacons, NFC, RFID, IoT sensors, IoT Platforms, smartphones and digital signs through our cloud-based rules and management platform to your data systems delivering results and experiences that engage, surprise and delight. We focus on building bespoke IoT solutions and delivering contextual, proximity information and marketing services.
Our Founders
David founded what became Australia’s largest and best-recognised interactive and mobile services company, Legion Interactive. Legion was best known for its interactive services in Television (Big Brother & Australian Idol), but also conducted interactive promotions for Coke, McDonalds, The Sydney Olympics, Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, NAB, ACP, MasterCard amongst most other iconic brands in Australia
After selling Legion to the Photon Group in 2005, David stayed on for two years as executive chairman of Legion, during which time he also headed the Photon Group’s ‘digital pillar’ businesses. Legion was later sold to Salmat and is now known as Salmat Digital.
He joined the ASX-listed digital media company, Webfirm Group (now Adslot), as Group CEO in 2008, taking it from a valuation of A$2m to a peak of A$120m within three years. BRW named Webfirm Group Australia’s seventh-fastest growing company of 2008 in its annual ‘Fast 100’ report, and Webfirm was the only Australian company to feature in the top five ‘Deloitte Technology Fast 50’ companies in both 2008 and 2009.
In December 2013 David and Rohan Lean established an exciting new Internet of Things Company, iProximity with a focus on proximity marketing and information services using iBeacons, NFC, RFID and IoT sensors and platforms.
Since iProximity’s commencement Fujitsu, Optus, Data#3, DataCom, Mobile Mentor, Blink Mobility amongst others have chosen iProximity’s innovative and unique solutions.
In 1987 Rohan was responsible for the design of operator call answering solutions for radio paging which spanned 3 companies Instapage, Skypage and Link Telecommunications.
In 1991 Rohan was one of the founders of what came to be know as MessageNet, a leading software and online service provider of paging and later SMS messaging. His software was adopted by Telstra, Optus and exported to British Telecom. Rohan was key in the design and implementation of the worlds first business SMS gateway for corporate messaging. This solution was then adopted by Optus and called Optus Update, the forerunner to Optus Zoo.
In 2009 MessageNet was sold to the Photon Group and several years later on sold to Salmat. MessageNet plays a major role in Salmat Digitals online offering.
Rohan then consulted to SMS Central helping them improve their SMS service and reliability prior to its sale to MessageMedia. The improvements made had a direct impact on the valuation of SMS Centrals business.
In late 2013, Rohan and David Burden formed iProximity, a company focused on the Internet of Things and using technology including Beacons, RFID, NFC and WiFi.
The experience that both Rohan and David bring to the area of IoT is extremely vast and the solutions that they provide are truly exciting.
